Congratulations to Meadowvale Music Theatre, a volunteer-led organization since 1989, for hosting its inaugural free Audition Preparation Workshop for 50 youth ages 7–17, with support from the Rotary Club of Mississauga!

Held on Saturday, October 3, the sold-out workshop brought together two community-minded volunteer organizations to support young aspiring actors and those interested in exploring musical theatre but unsure where to begin. Auditioning can be an intimidating experience, and this terrific initiative provided participants with valuable insight into the audition process, practical preparation tips, and the confidence to put their best foot forward.
Beyond developing performance skills, the workshop delivered an important message about self-confidence, kindness, and believing in yourself:
“You don’t need to be perfect! It’s more important to be kind to yourself and others. Believe in yourself and have the confidence to give it your all! Good things will happen.”
The initiative aimed to welcome new talent, expand opportunities for youth participation, and build confidence and self-esteem among young people from an increasingly diverse community.
Congratulations to Wendy Guest, President; David Raakman, Membership & Youth Engagement; and the entire Meadowvale Music Theatre team for their vision and commitment to empowering the next generation of performers. With plans already underway to make the workshop bigger and better next year, this is an exciting step toward making the arts more accessible to local youth.
The Rotary Club of Mississauga is proud to partner with Meadowvale Music Theatre in supporting the arts, encouraging youth participation, and helping young people discover their talents and believe in themselves!
