RCOM provides a grant of $3,000 to Mississauga Services to Seniors to prepare a hot meal for 700 seniors and persons with disabilities to be delivered on Christmas Eve and Day.
Mississauga Services to Seniors will use this funding of $3,000 to prepare a hot meal for 700 seniors and persons with disabilities to be delivered on Christmas Eve and Day. They are working with the Mississauga Food Bank/ Maple Lodge Chicken/they have a Kitchen in their building on Dundas Street/they have 2 prof chef's and staff and 40 volunteers to help them deliver hot meals on Christmas day/ they have a diverse population base and will cook Caribbean chicken, roast beef/vegetarian and have halal options for their clients. Mississauga Services to Seniors, worked with meals on wheels and Second Harvest in 2020 to deliver 2500 meals/ they get their clients from churches/ hospitals/ foodbank/they have community day programs with St. John Baptist church/ St Patrick’s Church and East Mississauga Health Centre.
