Achēv gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Rotary Club of Mississauga for their kind donation of $2500 for our Refugee Emergency Relief project. Achēv is part of a network of service providers providing support to CUAET clients for a 14 day hotel stay while arrangements are made to move them on other housing arrangements. During their stay, Achēv staff are assist them to transition into their life in Canada by providing one to one information and referral to : Employment Services, Legal and social Services, Education and Training, Credential Evaluation, Housing Information, Child, youth and family resources, Community and recreation, and Access to resource centre services (computers/phones/printing).

The Rotary Club of Mississauga donation will significantly impact Achēv's ability to continue to support misplaced Ukrainians temporarily housed at one of the hotels near our Mississauga Centre. Through our Newcomer Information Centre Services, the Achēv team is currently assisting over 100 Ukrainian families on a monthly basis.
Through the donation, Achēv has been able to provide Ukrainian’s with bus tickets so they can access public transit when:
- commuting to open their bank account
- to visit a Service Ontario location to apply for OHIP
- to travel to job interviews if they are at the stage of job searching.
Additionally, we have purchased gift cards to low-budget grocery stores in the community such as No Frills, Food Basics and Walmart so they can be used for food and sanitary items. With this donation from the Rotary Club of Mississauga, our goal is to support at least 70 families through these donated funds.
