On Monday November 24th the Rotary Club of Mississauga, Peace and Environment Committee Lorraine Crow stood in solidarity with Mayor Carolyn Parrish, City Councillors, charities Armagh House and Embrave: Agency to End Violence, staff and survivors to raise a flag with mark the first day of a 16 international campaign to End Gender-based Violence.
Purple scarfs mark the 2025 Wrapped in Courage Campaign.
These scarves carry powerful meanings for everyone who wears them. During the 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence, many don a purple scarf to demonstrate their support for local services combating GBV. Others wear them as a signal to survivors that they are believed, valued, and never alone. For some, the scarf serves as a poignant reminder of those lost to femicide, reinforcing their commitment to creating change.

Armagh House
Armagh is Peel Region’s only transitional supportive housing program, offering safe and affordable housing for women who have experienced abuse, with or without children. Unlike emergency shelters that provide short-term stays, we offer long-term housing stability combined with comprehensive support services, helping residents build the skills and supports needed for successful independent living.
