The Rotary Club of Mississauga contributed $1,000 towards the Hopeful Tomorrows Campaign.

This support provides an investment in the potential, dignity and wellbeing of students across the Peel District School Board.

Every day, thousands of students face barriers that no child should have to carry: food insecurity, a lack of warm clothing, unstable housing, or the absence of basic necessities that allow them to learn, grow, and thrive:

“The student and parent are currently unhoused. They moved into our area recently. into the local shelter. The student is in need of basic essential items and the student and family don't have the funds at this time to pay for all the things they require.”
– Student Emergency Needs Program Request

This gift helps to remove those barriers. It ensures that when a student shows up to class hungry, cold, or overwhelmed by crisis, the help they need is there.

Letter excerpt from Sarah Smith, Interim Executive Director

Through the Hopeful Tomorrows Campaign, we are providing urgent support that brings stability and hope during a child’s most vulnerable moments. Thanks to your generosity, a student will have access to winter gear that keeps them warm, groceries that relieve the strain on their family, hygiene items that allow them to feel confident at school, or emergency assistance during times of crisis. These are small interventions that make a profound difference:

“The Student Emergency Needs Program grant provided immediate relief for the two students by offering Walmart gift cards to cover essential needs such as food, clothing, and school supplies. This support helped them feel included, reduced stress, and allowed them to focus more fully on their learning. The students were very appreciative and thankful.”
– Peel District School Board Principal

We are deeply grateful for your partnership and for the care you show to children and youth in our community.
Thank you for standing with us and for helping build a future where every student feels supported and valued.

With gratitude,
Sarah Smith
