Rotary Club of Mississauga is proud to support this award winning youth-led charity.
Music For Every Child is a youth-led, registered charity organization run by students ages 8 – 23. Music For Every Child initiates and funds music therapy programming for children with special needs in inner city schools. Through the universal language of music, we help students develop important skills including socio-emotional, communication, and behavioural regulation. We are currently official Educational Partners with Toronto District School Board, partnering with educators and professionals across Toronto, Mississauga, Ottawa, and Oakville. We hope to continue expanding our program to help those in need!

RCOM's $2500 grant will benefit this Mississauga school directly.
Dunrankin Drive Public School, the neighbourhood of Malton. Key statistics include:
- 15% of students required special education services
- 10% of students were new to Canada from a non-English speaking country (above the provincial average of 5.1%),
- 40% of students’ first languages were not English (above the provincial average of 26.3%)
- Majority of grade 3 children were achieving below the provincial standard in reading, writing and math.
These indicators suggest a high proportion of immigrant and low-income families. Providing music therapy programs to this school will help bridge educational and developmental gaps while creating an inclusive and supportive environment for marginalized special needs students.
