District Governor John Gilversy
Spoke to our club this week. He spoke about the
need to include Rotaracts in our meeting.  To
create Rotary Family events and his pet project
“Honduras Micro funding” he requested that every
club put in $1,500.00 per club and that would provide
$400,000 in micro loans to families Which could
make the difference between sending their kids to
School Providing fresh water, or providing food
enough for the family.

Always cheerful in his pursue in making our community better because he lives here too. He has spent untold hours sometimes attending 3 meetings a day for a project or committee. His dedication is exemplary.  My toast this week is to Jim Lawless Thank you for all that you do".

A Mia Culpa buck I didn't remember the always attenders when I announced that the meeting was cancelled.  It won't happen again. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Jim Lawless spoke about George Lamberts condition. He is having open heart surgery and his family has requested no visits this week as George is very tired.

Jim also asked for Volunteers for the Easter Seal's Cruise on Sunday August 19th. If you can make it please call Jim. The time is 9:00 am at the PCYC.

Rotary Moment -Which can either be the answer to a someone when they ask “What is Rotary” or it can be the moment you transitioned from Joining Rotary to becoming a Rotarian.  But a Rotary moment is when as People of Action you take part in Changing people’s. This weeks moment was expressed by Helga Noyes. Her moment was when she was in an airplane heading to Mexico to help the children there. Their faces as we put lights on their bikes.  They are so appreciative for all that we can do for them. One boy even had a Canadian Flag pin right on his cap.

This week we introduced Rotary Random Acts of Kindness in the name of a Rotarian who was having their birthday.
If you do a random act please email me at Saskia@kw.com so I can post the number and the best ones.  This week's honourees are Carlo, Julie, and Terry. My thinking is we have 50 members, x 50 Acts of Kindness = 2500 acts of kindness. If this spreads and Other clubs do this that is 30,000 acts of kindness just in our district.
Example: on my way home I visited a Rotarian in a Retirement Community.
Be the inspiration and make the world a nicer place.
