Welcome to another issue of our bulletin!  Now that the snowbirds are on their way home I don't know if it is spring in the air or if my Vitamin B12 is kicking in, but I am energized.
The President's Toast was to teachers who have inspired, coached and mentored us. The toast was to either Terry Chaffe or Nagwa El-Naga or the teacher in your past that helped you transition from youth to adulthood.
Steve Leitch led us in a powerful version of Oh Canada. Jan Gerrard led us in Grace.
Sargent at Arms Janette Sasso told a great joke that if you weren't here today contact me saskia@kw.com
Further, Janette Sasso maintained tight control on all of the announcements to follow.
We welcomed David Grabb President of the Meadowvale Club, and Dale Scheerer President Elect to our meeting this week.
There are many exciting initiatives we are putting in place.  One of them was showcased this week. Dale Scheerer demonstrated that we are able to set up a camera and Rotarians can log in to see the meetings from their home.  If you are too busy to travel to our location or travelling, or Sick you are now able to login in and view us from your office desktop, your cell phone or laptop. Finally, we can build the future together.
Furthermore, we now have a Corporate, Associate, or Family membership in addition to the Regular and Honourary membership.
If you haven't been in a couple of weeks you might have missed that we are creating a Subscription Lottery where we will raise funds on a weekly basis or at an event.  This Lottery has an online and offline version and we will be tieing it in Social media for Expotential better results.  It will accept Credit Cards.  Dale has been doing a version of this lottery for 5 years and will set up and maintain it going forward.   This lottery is not replacing any of our fundraising events but just opening our regular 50/50 up with community and other charity events.
Further Last week The Mississauga North Club announced that they will be transferring their 8 members to the Mississauga Club. This is not a merger as they will be transferring and then ending their charter.  We welcome them and will have all of their members give a classification speech.

This Week's Speakers
For those of you who couldn't make it to this week's lunch, We heard from 5 great speakers.  The President of the University of Toronto , Professor ULLI KRULL, Executive Director of Strategy for UTM SUSAN SENESE, Assistant Professor SHERRY FUKUZAWA of Anthropology.
They spoke about indigenous students and how the University has recognized that they haven't incorporated a program that honours Indigenous Students. They explained how they are now making a difference by changing the way they speak with Indigenous staff and students. Not at them or To them by with them to make a difference by building a relationship.   Two students spoke about their experiences growing up indigenous and how their future is completely different to that of their ancestors by not turning their cultural heritage off but rather renewing their cultural languages and traditions.  Studying how we can incorporate this back into their communities.
This Week's Inspiration
Rotary is not an empty room to fill but a fire to be started.  Be a fire starter and inspire someone to join us at Lunch.
