Mississauga Rotarians and their family members showed their commitment to environmental stewardship by braving the rain and participating in The Great Riverwood Hike fundraiser on Sunday, October 4, alongside Jaz Samara, Rotary District 7080 Environment Committee Chair.

The event raised support for The Riverwood Conservancy’s environmental education, conservation, and community programming, helping protect one of Mississauga’s treasured natural spaces.

Located along the Credit River, Riverwood is a beautiful 150-acre urban nature preserve dedicated to protecting and restoring the natural environment. Through inclusive environmental education, active stewardship, and the preservation of local flora and fauna—including its beautiful gardens—The Riverwood Conservancy inspires people of all cultures, ages, and abilities to connect with and care for nature.

Supported by passionate volunteers, dedicated members, and community partners, the Conservancy plays an important role in ensuring that Riverwood remains a vibrant natural space for current and future generations.

Despite the rainy weather, our Rotarians demonstrated that a little rain won't stop them from supporting a great cause!

The Rotary Club of Mississauga is proud to support environmental initiatives that strengthen our community and help protect the natural spaces we all enjoy.
