The Rotary Club of Mississauga (RCOM) was honoured to support Art Mashkiki and its ongoing efforts to create opportunities for education, cultural connection, healing and community dialogue.

As part of this initiative, RCOM supported an art exhibition and a speaker who shared their experiences of the residential school system. Hearing directly from those with lived experience provided an important opportunity for reflection, learning and understanding, while recognizing the lasting impact of residential schools on Indigenous individuals, families and communities.

Art Mashkiki creates space for Indigenous artists and community members to share stories, culture and traditions through a variety of artistic and cultural experiences. Its programming includes the annual Art Mashkiki Art Exhibition, featuring Indigenous paintings, photography, regalia and installations, as well as community gatherings, ceremonies and inclusive drumming circles that often feature traditional teachers and Elders.

RCOM encourages members and community supporters to visit the 7th Annual Art Mashkiki Exhibition, taking place from September 23 to October 8, 2026, at the Small Arms Inspection Building in Mississauga.
