The Trillium Health Partners is embarking on the largest community hospital campaign in Canadian Health History.  There couldn’t be a more important time or project that will fundamentally change health care, than the rebuild of Canada’s largest hospital that will result in substantially improving the health care system in our region.
Fifty-three Rotarians in the City of Mississauga joined together to participate in the Hazel McCallion Walk for Health and raised just over $20,000 to be to be allocated to "Leading Edge Life Saving Equipment - $10 Campaign" for the New 21-Story State of the Art Hospital being built in the City of Mississauga.
In December 2021, members of the Rotary Club of Mississauga attended the Eden Food Bank Breakfast fundraiser. During the breakfast, Hazel McCallion spoke to the over 500 attendees. She talked about the new 21-storey State-of-the-Art Hospital that was being built in the City of Mississauga. In her address, she said “Wouldn’t it be great if every person in the City of Mississauga could contribute $10 toward this new hospital”. Every person in the city would feel like they are a part of this great new facility.

THE CHALLENGE - $10.00 PER PERSON
The Rotary Club of Mississauga President at that time was moved by Hazel’s words. As Rotary is a not-for-profit community-focused organization dedicated to creating positive change locally and globally she felt that this was an incredible opportunity for us to help to mobilize the residents of Mississauga from the community level. Not long after, the 3 other Rotary Clubs in Mississauga have joined forces; and together, we embarked on a program to challenge each resident in the City of Mississauga to donate $10 to Trillium Health Partners’ future home of The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital. Funds raised through this challenge will help support the purchase of Leading Edge Life Saving Equipment.

THE GOAL - $7.8 MILLION
With a population of approximately 780,000, multiplied by $10, our challenge is to raise $7.8 million.
