The Rotary Club of Mississauga is proud to have been one of eight Rotary clubs that contributed $2,800 CAD toward an international project that is helping transform cancer diagnosis and care in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
Led by the Rotary Club of Niagara-on-the-Lake, the project brought together Rotary clubs and districts across borders to support the purchase and installation of a BenchMark GX automated immunohistochemistry system at the Santa Cruz government oncology institute.
The project is now complete, and the new system is fully installed and operational.
This state-of-the-art technology will help cancer patients in Santa Cruz receive faster and more accurate diagnoses, allowing physicians to identify the appropriate treatment sooner. For patients and their families facing one of the most difficult times in their lives, earlier diagnosis and treatment can mean greater hope and better opportunities for recovery.
The US$93,015 Rotary Global Grant is a powerful example of what can be achieved when Rotarians come together across clubs, districts and countries with a shared purpose: to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
